Virginia Cuppaidge21 September - 23 OctoberOpening Saturday 25 September, 3-5pm VIRGINIA CUPPAIDGE paints intuitively and her canvases flourish with feeling and energy. Her oil and acrylic works on canvas show the inherent vitality of Abstraction. Born in Brisbane, CUPPAIDGE studied in Sydney with Desiderous Orban, Stanislaus Rapotec, Marea Gazzard, John Olsen and Robert Klippel before moving to New York in 1969 to "see the best abstract art going on at the time and live in the art museums." Although CUPPAIDGE has lived in New York for more than thirty years she has come to the realization that her abstract work is routed in her Australian experience. |

Rae BolotinSeeds26 October - 20 November Opening Saturday 30 October, 3-5pm Perennial favourite RAE BOLOTIN playfully experiments with tantalising organic forms. BOLOTIN is well known for her infatuation with the apple form and at the core of her practice is a fascination with transformation and proliferation. Thought provoking new work by Rae continues to find wonder in the simple and the familiar. Delicate botanical elements: pods, petals, plumes, buds and bracts, are incarnated in industrial materials as BOLOTIN sprouts comparisons between appearance and form, centring on the intrinsic values of nature. |
