Denese Oates is a finalist in 'Hidden at Rookwood', a sculpture walk at Rookwood Cemetery. Her work will also be featured in Artisans in the Gardens at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Sydney in October.

Janet Dawson has been interviewed by Rebecca Gallo from Art Guide Australia.

'Senior Australian artist Janet Dawson is one of 38 artists included in the exhibition, Abstraction: celebrating Australian women abstract artists. Drawn from the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Australia, this survey is a long overdue antidote to a male-dominated history of abstract art. Dawson was one of only three women to show in the influential 1968 exhibition The Field, which will be restaged in 2018 at the National Gallery of Victoria for its 50th anniversary. Rebecca Gallo spoke with Dawson about her impressions of these major shows, her experience in a male-dominated art world, and the beauty and pleasure of good abstract art.'

Muswellbrook Art Prize 2017

Congratulations to Viola Dominello and David Fairbairn, who are both finalists in the 44th Muswellbrook Art Prize 2017.

You can see both Viola and David's work in this years painting section of the prize. David is also a finalist for the works on paper portion of the prize.

The Muswellbrook will open on Saturday 11 March from 6pm. The exhibition runs from 12 March  - 7 May.
